NISCAIR announces its forthcoming short term course
Course title: "Bibliometric Tools and Techniques for Measurement andEvaluation of Research Output"Duration: 24-28 November 2008Topics covered: Bibliometrics and associated areas, elements and laws,tools and techniques, quantitative and qualitative indicators, derivationand testing of performance measures, scientific collaboration and citationimpact, advanced data analysis methods, bibliometric technology, carryingout studies, writing articles/reports on bibliometrics etc.Target audience: LIS Faculty, Research Scholars & Students interested inBibliometrics, Library staff of R&D institutes and universitiesNISCAIR expertise: NISCAIR has a strong bibliometrics unit that providesvarious bibliometric services including providing analytical researchoutput reports of research institutions, individual scientists and so on.The unit has also been entrusted with several assignments of nationalimportance including carrying out scientometric studies for the ShantiSwarup Bhatnagar Awards, INSA Young Scientists Award and others everyyear. NISCAIR has at its disposal important resources such as the ISI'sWeb of Science to carry out its bibliometric activities.
